Divisions & Cost
Brick Builders Division: Elementary 3-5 (LEGO only).
Tech Engineers Division: Middle 6-8 (Lego, VEX, CyberBot - autonomous).
Master Roboticist Division: High 9+ (Metal VEX / FRC Style, autonomous and RC controlled bots).
Team Size: 2–5 students per team.
Cost: $10 per team to enter a challenge or $100 for the series
Robotic Platforms: LEGO EV3/Spike, CyberBot/Shield Bot, Vex.
Dimensions: Designs must fit within a 12” x 12” x 12” box and cannot exceed these dimensions at any time.
Human Interaction: No human interaction is allowed once a run or match begins.
Safety & Inspection: Robots must pass inspection before competing. Unsafe robots will be disqualified.
Pit Stop Time: Each team receives a 10-minute "Pit Stop" between events for repairs and code adjustments.
Robots Per Challenge: Teams are limited to one robot per challenge but may have different designs/robots for each unique challenge.
Challenge 1: The 30ft Velocity Strip (Race Car)
Objective: Build and program a robot race car to travel down a 30-foot course without crashing or leaving the lane. Head to Head challenge.
Timeline Focus: Gears & drivetrains for speed & distance control.
Challenge 2: The Labyrinth Sprint (Maze)
Objective: Program a robot to navigate a maze to the finish and back to the start..
Timeline Focus: Sensors & measured turns for navigation.
Challenge 3: Aero-Launch (Airplane Launcher)
Objective: Design a paper airplane and a robotic launcher that achieves the longest flight distance and has the longest hang time.
Timeline Focus: Airplane design & launcher prototyping & Data Collection.
Challenge 4: The Siege of Precision (Catapult)
Objective: Launch balls to knock over cups placed at set distances and test for the longest distance that a ball is launched.
Timeline Focus: Catapult mechanisms (automated release).
Challenge 5: Clash of the Gears (Battle Bots) (FINAL EVENT) (Double Elimination)
Objective: Be the last robot moving inside the arena.
Timeline Focus: Battle Bot design constraints, weapons, and sensor-triggered combat programming.
